Built by an educator.
Designed for the next generation.
The question that started BBK.
"What if we gave children the tools much earlier?"
Jennifer Fishman had spent years working with young people as an educator and entrepreneur, and she kept noticing the same thing: children were bright, creative, and full of ideas — but almost none of them had any framework for turning those ideas into action. They had never been taught how money actually works, how a business gets started, or what it means to earn something through your own effort and ingenuity.
School curricula touched on financial literacy in theory, but rarely in practice. The result was a generation of children who reached adulthood knowing very little about how to manage their finances, let alone how to build something of their own.
Jennifer asked herself: what if we gave children the tools much earlier? What if, between the ages of five and eleven — before self-doubt sets in, before the teenage years take hold — we showed children what they were truly capable of?
Business Basics for Kids is the answer to that question.

Founder · Educator · NFTE-Certified Entrepreneurship Instructor
Jennifer Fishman is the founder of Business Basics for Kids and the architect of the BBK AI program. With more than twenty years of experience at the intersection of education and entrepreneurship, Jennifer brings a rare combination of academic rigour and practical business acumen to everything she creates.
Her background spans classroom teaching, curriculum development, and hands-on work with young entrepreneurs across the United States. She has seen first-hand the transformative effect of giving children real responsibility — the shift in confidence, in self-belief, and in their willingness to take on challenges — that comes from building something that is genuinely theirs.
I built BBK AI because I believe the best investment any parent can make in their child is the experience of doing something real, finishing it, and seeing the result of their own effort. That is what builds confidence — not praise, not screen time, not a simulation. Real work. Real outcomes. Real pride.

Give every child the chance to discover what they're capable of
Business Basics for Kids exists to give every child between the ages of five and eleven the skills, confidence, and hands-on experience to start and run a real business — safely, progressively, and at their own pace.
We believe financial literacy is not a subject. It is a life skill. And life skills are best learned by doing.
Our mission is not to produce miniature CEOs. It is to raise a generation of young people who understand the relationship between effort, value, and reward — and who carry that understanding with them for the rest of their lives.
